God has blessed us with a piece of property perfectly suited for all kinds of animals. For almost ten years all kinds of animals have come to Saint Brendan's. Some are experimental and are only here for a season or two; others are here for the long haul. Monasteries and animals seem to have a symbiosis between them and it's not just about having eggs to eat or milk to drink. Animals can sometimes open a door to the things of heaven more profoundly than praying the Daily Office. And raising animals brings us back to mankind's original call to be a steward of God's creation--of all that is alive. Below are some pictures, in no particular order, of our happy monastic menagerie. If the picture appears to be cropped, click on it to view the entire photo.
