WHO WE ARE
Situated on the site of a 217-year old farm in Down East, Maine, Saint Brendan's Monastic Retreat Community has been consecrated to God as a place of worship, retreat, prayer, healing, and monastic formation. An ecumenical mission under the episcopal cover of the Missionary Diocese of all Saints and the Anglican Church in North America, Saint Brendan's is the collective name of four distinct ministries, all of which operate from the Saint Brendan's homestead. These ministries seek to introduce Christians of all backgrounds, denominations, and communions to the rich treasures of monastic spirituality and intentional devotion. MONASTIC MUSE
muse \’myüz\ 1: vb to turn something over in the mind meditatively,
2: to think reflectively, 3: n - a state of deep thought...
Prayer is the fortress wall of our faith. It is her weapons and missiles
against the foe, who keeps watch over us on all sides. And so we never walk unarmed.
—Tertullian, c. 198 AD
