Chapel Construction

The birth of Holy Trinity Chapel.

We have been blessed to design, watch, and participate in the construction of Holy Trinity Chapel at Saint Brendan's.  We're also exercising faithful stewardship of the gifts given to Saint Brendan's for this project.  At this point, Holy Trinity Chapel has only cost $25,000.00.  It'll take about $10,000.00 more to finish...and we'll be doing all the interior work ourselves  to save on labor.  All the funds at this point have come from gifts and donations; there are no loans, capital campaign drives, or mortgages involved--this will be a debt-free place of prayer and worship.  Right now we're in a building phase that one of our friends calls "buck-board construction" (every time a dollar comes in, we can buy another board or box of nails).  Continue to pray with us that just the right amount of donations  arrive at  just the right time so that the work can continue to the praise and glory of Jesus Christ.
Ground breaking begins at the construction site.
Terry Stevens, our local contractor, does our foundation work.
Dale Richardson and his team begin work on the frost wall.
The frost wall has to be at least four feet high.
It takes two truckloads of cement to pour our frost wall.
Fr. Alan works on the center crib wall to support the floor joists.
Mother Sue positions the floor joists from the center crib wall to the rim joists.
A front deck is added for the entry into the chapel.
Fr. Alan and Mother Sue install the sub-flooring in preparation for the carpenter.
Terry Kinney and Michael Stevens prepare the site for framing.
The walls go up very quickly under the skill of our local carpenters.
The roof trusses are delivered to the job site.
Each truss is propped up into place.
You can begin to see the cathedral ceiling taking shape.
The walls are sheathed and prepared for wrapping.
Sheathing is added to the roof trusses.
As soon as we had a roof, we had a worship service.
Windows are delivered and boards are painted for the roof trim.
Terry and Michael are also able to shingle the roof for us.
Fr. Alan and Clay Landwehr shorten old pews from another church for the chapel.
The pews really help to make it look like a chapel.
The entryway is framed and sheathed and the roof is added.
